Principal Investigator: Dr. Yohan Kurniawan
Co-Researcher: C. Wahju Prijonggo, S.PSI., M.M., PH.d., Associate Prof. Dr. Wei Lun Chou, Venerable You Deng
Background:
This study explores how Buddhist mantras, as vibrational sound patterns, may influence human aura colors and energetic states. Using sound analysis, aura imaging, and guinea pig behavioral observation, it aims to provide empirical evidence for the energetic effects of sacred chanting, bridging spiritual tradition and scientific inquiry.
Research Objective:
Research Methodology:
This study uses a quasi-experimental, pre-post, within-subject design to examine the effects of Buddhist mantra chanting on aura colors in humans and behavioral responses in guinea pigs. Twenty adult participants (Buddhists and non-Buddhists) and nine guinea pigs are exposed to four mantras, with and without background music. Human aura changes are measured using the WinAura system, while guinea pig behavior is observed and analyzed descriptively.
